Dancing on Ice has been left in chaos as it looks like another celebrity will still be eliminated from the competition this weekend despite three stars being missing from the line-up.
Denise, 46, was forced to quit the show after suffering a serious injury during rehearsals on the ice with her professional partner Matt Evers.
The pretty blonde star, who is a self-confessed “tough old Essex bird”, danced through the pain but was sadly forced to pull out after doctors told the star she could end up with a body full of metal pins.
Meanwhile, former The Only Way Is Essex star Billie won’t be skating on Sunday following the sad death of her gran, and 41-year-old Rufus is self-isolating due to coronavirus.
However, both stars will be back to compete but it seems to have caused a bit of stress for the show’s bosses.
An ITV insider told The Sun: “The trio of absences have caused major headaches. Bosses have to fill two hours in prime-time.
“They thought the biggest hurdle would be getting the programme on air, but they couldn’t have foreseen coronavirus causing a contestant to drop out at the same time that two other stars left due to an injury and a bereavement.
“With such a run of bad luck, they’re preparing for every possible outcome. They’re taking nothing for granted,” they added.
Former British artistic gymnast Amy Tinkler is replacing mum-of-one Denise, and it’s been reported that producers are prepared to turn to TV host Matt Richardson, 29, as a stand-in if anyone else leaves the series permanently.
Rufus took to Twitter on Friday night to share an update with fans after being absent from last weekend’s show, and consecutively this one’s.
“I’ve had Covid. Isolated when I knew I’d come into contact with it, tested five days later, am coming to the end of having had it, luckily v mild case,” he wrote.
