Carol Smillie is said to be “unhappy” after being snubbed from the upcoming Changing Rooms reboot for the second time.
The show’s original presenter, 59, fronted the DIY show between 1996 and 2005 on BBC One and has reportedly not been asked to return when the show makes a big comeback later this year.
An insider told The Sun: “Carol hasn’t been approached by those behind the Changing Rooms reboot – even when Davina had to pull out.
“A lot of people thought she’d be the number one choice given her experience on the show before and because they were bringing back Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.
“Some people close to Carol raised it and it was made clear to them that her nose had been put out of joint.”
Daily Star has contracted a representative for Carol for a comment.
Scottish beauty Carol admitted in August last year that she would love to return to the how if it was revamped.
“It was definitely the favourite show of my career, without a doubt. It would be the only show I’d come back to telly for,” she told Daily Mail’s Weekend Magazine.
“It was the first time we’d had car-crash telly, when you would be sitting there with a cushion in front of your eyes, saying, ‘Oh no!’ It was sometimes like watching a disaster in slow motion.
“As a nation, we like to snoop around other people’s houses and that had never been done on TV before.”
It comes after the news that Davina McCall has been forced to pull out of the reboot cast due to other commitments.
The 53-year-old star, who hosted Big Brother from 2000 until 2010, allegedly pulled out of the gig after filming for ITV’s The Masked Singer made it “impossible” for her to juggle both.
Davina stated in October last year that she couldn’t wait to “get stuck in”.
The TV icon added: “”It’s the perfect time to bring it back. Everyone is going DIY and decor-mad!
“I can’t wait to see all the amazing transformations.
“I might even get stuck in myself if I’m allowed to be let loose with a paint brush.”
Just five months later and the star has dropped out after having to travel the UK due to her judge gig.

Metro.co.uk reported that Davina’s reps confirmed the news.
Changing Rooms is set for a six-episode return on Channel 4 when filming can get underway, but the start date remains unclear.
The return of interior designer Laurence, 56, to the show was announced in December last year.
Speaking at the time, he said: “It’s taken quite a lot of coaxing to get me under the Changing Rooms banner once more, but nothing like as much coaxing as it’s going to take to squeeze those leather trousers back on.”
